The Lake Oswego Review did it’s part. Let’s thank the Review for getting the word out and now it’s up to us to send Council a clear message. DRC residency requirements should be as follows:
No less than 4 of the members of the DRC shall be residents of the City of Lake Oswego. Any members not residing in the City shall reside within the City’s Urban Services Boundary.

Public Hearing Announced

A badly needed new Wastewater Treatment Plant is in the design phase and the city is seeking community feedback.

The next meeting is June 22nd 6:00-8:00pm.

4th & Evergreen Pedestrian Path

The “pathway” at the NW corner of 4th & Evergreen has been a safety concern for some time.

During the 2020 paving project the city designed a new curb ramp that would have required the removal of the large cedar tree. After the tree was flagged, neighbors expressed their opposition to removing the tree. The City did install pavers for a pathway around the tree. After further consideration, the City decided not to remove the tree and took out the pavers through this area, as they weren’t ADA-compliant.

Now there is simply a dirt pathway, which isn’t ADA-compliant, and presents a tripping hazard. The ENA has communicated our concerns to the city and the following resolutions are under consideration:

• Without a pathway, pedestrian traffic will use the street.
• Removing one sidewalk berm and redoing the other.
• Planting vegetation at the ends of the pathway to block the path and discourage use.
• Request traffic enforcement of Do Not Enter violations for westbound traffic.
• Consider a physical barrier to discourage/restrict westbound traffic through the Do Not Enter.

10th & Evergreen Hedge

Many have reported concerns over visibility at this intersection.  Wiley Campbell, who leads the Board’s Traffic/Safety Committee has been in communication with the city to find a resolution.  The hedge has just been trimmed back considerably.  Thanks to Wiley for his efforts and thanks to the city for helping alleviate concerns!
