March 2021 Newsletter

Announcing our new neighborhood website and more!

Hello neighbors! Is there light at the end of the tunnel? Spring is here, vaccines are here, and businesses are opening again. It is starting to feel like life may be returning to a semblance of normal. Your ENA Board continues to conduct meetings by Zoom, which we expect to continue until at least this fall.

Your Association works to maintain open communication with City officials, businesses, and other neighborhood groups to maximize the resources available to our neighborhood.

ENA BOARD

We are very pleased to announce a new Board Member who is serving as our Secretary. Sarah Dobbyn spent much of her youth in Lake Oswego and has recently returned to live in her original family home on 6th street with her husband and children. We welcome Sarah to the Board and appreciate her willingness to serve as Secretary.

NEW WEBSITE

In our last newsletter we told you about the interest in a new website and efforts to fund its development. The grant proposal presented to the City was approved and several neighbors personally contributed funds to make it happen.

The new site just went live, and you can see it at https://ena-oswego.org

We implemented a version of the logo ideas we shared with you in the last newsletter.

To complement the website, we also created an Instagram account so neighbors can share photos of interest. Go to https://www.instagram.com/p/CMVT9TylMbS/ to follow ENA on Instagram. Board Member Elisha Joyce has generously offered to manage the Instagram account.

The Board is really pleased with these results and hope you are too. Please let us know if you have any ideas for the website or Instagram. We love your feedback.

BOARD MEETING

Our quarterly Board meeting was held on Wednesday March 10th. We covered the typical approval of prior minutes, Treasurer’s report, tree report, real estate review, planning development, etc…

CLICK HERE to visit the website and see the full draft of minutes. They will be approved at the next Board meeting.

The next Board meeting is scheduled for Wednesday May 12th. You will receive an official notice in early May.

ANNUAL MEETING

The ENA annual meeting where all neighbors are encouraged to attend has historically happened in May. Last year it was postponed and ultimately held late last year by Zoom. The Board has decided to postpone the meeting again this year with the hope that we might be able to have an in person annual meeting in the fall of 2021. Stay tuned for more info.

WINTER STORM

Our neighborhood was impacted severely by the recent ice storm. The topic of damage response and preparedness was discussed at the Board meeting. Do you know that Lake Oswego has a citizen led group to deal with just such a disaster? Prep-LO has been working for years with our city and other governmental agencies to help our community be prepared for any type of disaster.

A link to the Prep-LO on-line portal is included in our new website, along with many other resources.

CONNECTING WITH THE NEIGHBORHOOD

In the past, Board members would make personal visits to new residents, sharing information and inviting them to connect with the ENA. This has been hampered by the Covid restrictions. If you have a new neighbor, please tell them about our Association and invite them to sign up with our newsletter and follow us on Instagram.

Finally, each year the City of LO accepts requests for neighborhood enhancement grants. If you have an idea for a project that would improve the quality of life in our neighborhood, let us know and we will put it on the Board agenda to discuss.

Wishing you good health and good fortune in 2021. Stay in touch with your neighbors!!
